Wedding themes are great for tying all of the elements of your wedding together, from the first save the date cards to the guest favours that are taken away at the end of the night. Wedding themes can be chosen based on your personalities, interests, favourite colours or just about anything else that represents you as a couple, whether you are minimalists, love luxury, are eco warriors or sport mad!
Wedding companies are competing in a specialised market and will be only too happy to have new suggestions from their clients, whether they are making a bespoke wedding cake, designing the perfect floral arrangements, dressing your venue to look fabulous or supplying the perfect wedding menu. A wedding theme makes it easier to whittle down the number of options as some things just won’t fit in with the style you are going for, leaving you more time to look at the things that really fit with your theme or source something unique.
We love to see a colourful wedding theme and you can base this around bright colours for a jewel toned or Bollywood theme, or perhaps a fiesta or Marrakech souk. Think beautiful tea glasses, glowing brass lanterns, lots of drapes and gold accents. Silk runners in jewel colours and deep toned table linens would all add to the opulent feel and guests could have little boxes of rose petal meringues, cardamom creams or sachets of mint tea for wedding favours.
If sunny Morocco is not your thing check out a seaside wedding theme with lots of nautical stripes, posh fish and chips at the wedding breakfast, little painted pebbles at each place setting and driftwood centre pieces. Perhaps an elegant Swan Lake ballet theme is more to your taste; lots of white fairy lights, silver accents, feathered decorations and delicate tulle trimming on chair covers, linens and decorations. Swan shaped place card holders for each guest and even an ice sculpture would all help the wedding theme to take shape.
Whatever you decide, set a budget for each element and do your research to set the scene for the perfect wedding theme.
