1. Can you play our special song at the wedding?
Yes! Every couple has “that song” that means the world to them. Even if it wasn’t originally written for piano, I can arrange it beautifully for your ceremony. I can also play separate songs for your bridal party and for you as you walk down the aisle. There are lots of examples on my socials (@pianocole on TikTok and Instagram). I can even create a mash-up of your favourite songs!

2. Do you need a piano at the venue?
Not at all. If the venue has a grand piano (like some of Cheshire’s historic halls, or Merrydale Manor and Colshaw Hall), I’ll gladly use it. Otherwise, I bring my own model baby grand piano and digital piano, which can be set up anywhere – indoors or outdoors, in marquees or barns. At Merrydale Manor and Colshaw Hall, it works seamlessly: I can play on the grand piano for the ceremony, then move to my piano for the drinks reception without any delay.

3. What parts of the day can you play for?

• Ceremony – as guests are seated, aisle walk, signing the register, and exit

• Drinks Reception – elegant background music while guests mingle

• Wedding Breakfast – relaxed, romantic piano during your meal

• Turnaround Time – background music while the room is being set up for the evening

4. How long do you play for?
I play for the duration of each part of your wedding day – not just short “sets.” Typically:

• Ceremony: 1–1.5 hours

• Drinks Reception: 1.5–2 hours

• Wedding Breakfast: 2+ hours

Unlike some pianists, I don’t take lengthy breaks – only a quick bathroom stop if needed (usually timed between sections of your day).

5. Do you only play classical music?
No! While I’m classically trained, my repertoire covers everything from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin through to Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi – with a sprinkling of Disney classics too. If you’d like Taylor Swift or even Pink Pony Club, I’ll happily arrange it!

6. Can you learn a new song for us?
Yes. I love learning new songs for couples. If you’d like a specific piece for your ceremony, I’ll arrange it beautifully for piano. Just give me a little notice so I can prepare it.

7. What happens if something goes wrong with the piano?
I always bring backup equipment and contingency options – so you never need to worry.

8. Do you take requests on the day?
Yes – if I know the song and it suits the atmosphere, I’m more than happy to play it.

9. How much space does a pianist need?
Very little – just a small corner and access to electricity.

10. Can you move between locations?
Yes. For example, I can play your outdoor ceremony at Carden Park, then move indoors for the drinks reception. At Merrydale Manor and Colshaw Hall, I often play in the bar for the drinks reception, then move into the suite for the wedding breakfast.

11. Will the music be too loud?
No – it will be just right. Piano music creates ambience without overpowering conversations. I’m there to enhance the atmosphere, not take centre stage.

12. Does the piano need a PA system?
Not usually. Most Cheshire wedding venues have wonderful acoustics. For larger spaces or outdoor ceremonies, I can provide a discreet PA system – but it’s rarely necessary.

13. Do you bring your own sound system?
Yes, if needed. For bigger venues or outdoor weddings across Cheshire and the North West, I can bring a PA system – but always at a volume that creates atmosphere without overpowering conversations.

14. Can you play at outdoor weddings?
Yes – I’ve played at many outdoor ceremonies. All I need is access to electricity.

15. What do you wear?
I dress formally – typically a black velvet tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo trousers, and black patent leather shoes. I’m also happy to match your theme or dress code.

16. How do we book you?
Booking is simple. I’ll send you a link to my booking form, and the system will guide you through paying the deposit to secure your date. We’ll finalise your music choices closer to the big day.
