A magical place to say ‘I Do!’ We make your special day as unique as you are. Our venue is majestic yet tranquil, hidden in the idyllic Lake District.
Historic Askham Hall is a distinctly different place to say ‘I do’. A multi award-winning family run venue. Sitting on the edge of the Lake District, this grade I listed hideaway dates back to the late 1200’s and is the former family home of the Earls of Lonsdale.
As well as a stunning Barn and a Medieval Hall, there is a Pavilion in the Grade II listed gardens, as well as a Gypsy Caravan for couples to sign the register. All set amid 12 acre gardens boasting an orchard, formal lawns and a double herbaceous border. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the River Lowther and surrounding countryside.
The Grade II listed Bank Barn has been sympathetically converted and has capacity for 150 seated guests. Original features such as bare stone walls and an open beamed oak ceiling, together with contemporary lighting, stylish décor and large glass doors, make it a truly unique setting for a wedding reception all year round.
Askham Hall offers wedding menus bursting with seasonal style and ingredients straight off the Lowther family estate, has two stunning churches nearly and is licensed for civil ceremonies.
With 19 unique bedrooms and a spa lap up the unpretentious luxury of this 13th Century retreat.
On Sunday 17 November 2019 we are holding a wedding open afternoon, from 1 – 4pm. A chance to meet the staff, view the facilities and see Bank Barn set up for a wedding.
The fabulous Tebbey and Co. – Wedding and Event Styling will be styling our barn! There will be group show arounds throughout the afternoon and of course our friendly weddings team will be on hand to answer all your questions. Free entry and no need to book. We hope to see you there!
For couples who have recently got engaged and are taking the time whilst at home to think about their future wedding, we are still taking bookings from Autumn 2021 and into 2022.
