Jessica H Wedding Singer: The Most Romantic Songs for your Wedding Day

Congratulations on planning your wedding!

My name is Jessica Helen and I’m an award winning wedding singer based in Cheshire and I’m also personally planning my own wedding taking place in 2024.

Personally I find music the fun part and the part that really gets to tell your story!

You may be struggling to think of songs for your ceremony or want something romantic and different for your first dance.
I hope the lists I have created will help you or give you some ideas.

I can’t think of a better day to tell you some of my favourites on the day of love – Valentine’s Day. I‘ve also added in some different songs I have found whilst planning the music for my own wedding.

To start here are a few of my favourites for ceremony and drinks reception entertainment:

1) Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
We’ve all heard this at a wedding but it has become a classic wedding song, whether you want this for your daytime or even first dance it’s perfect for a wedding.

2) A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
This is my favourite ceremony song and one I find has the perfect timing for when your registrar has you signing and your pictures are being taken.

3) Everywhere – Fleetwood Mac
This is one everybody knows but doesn’t expect if you are wanting something different for your ceremony.

4) Stand By Me – Ben E. King
I had a gorgeous couple request this for their wedding for the brides arrival and it was perfect!! Very fitting and if you get the timing just right with your bridal party you can make your arrival last the whole song.

5) The Best (Acoustic) – Tina Turner
I first heard this on Schitt’s Creek and it is a beautiful version, I love singing this at my couple’s weddings.

6) Make You Feel My Love – Adele
I love Adele and find this song always goes down well at a wedding.

7) Butterflies – Kacey Musgraves
I heard this sung by Kacey when she supported Adele (this was when I got engaged) so this song has a strong place in my heart, it’s also a song not many people have heard. RECOMMENDATION for weddings songs look at country music, they tell a story and don’t always have to be your thigh slapping country songs.

One thing I have found when planning my own wedding is how hard it is to find a first dance song especially if like me you don’t have a song together as a couple, personally I wanted something different that nobody had really heard at a wedding.

So to help here are a few I found:

1) She’s Everything – Brady Paisley
This was going to be my wedding song but I found one that fitted our personalities a lot more, remember if you hire a singer your can change the song whether this be she to he and some male songs sound amazing in a female tone.

2) My Best Friend – Tim McGraw
I sang this at my Auntie’s wedding and can honestly say it’s one of the songs that people come up and ask me what it was, I also love to sing this.

3) She- Elvis Costello
Ladies if you want to make your day all about you then why not have a song that is all about you?

4) You’re My Best Friend – Queen
This is more upbeat, not all couples want a slow dance and at every wedding I have done everyone knows Queen!

5) Three Time a Lady – Lionel Richie
Lionel has some amazing love songs, I personally was brought up with Lionel playing around the house so I love when couples request the songs I group up with.

6) All About You – McFly
A lot of people know this song and will sing along when you and your loved one are having your first dance together.

7) Songbird – Oasis
My last two songs are different, personally I haven’t heard this at a wedding but have had grooms ask about Oasis, this is fantastic for your first dance.

8) Baby I’m Yours – Artic Monkeys
One again that you may not of thought of and this randomly came on when I was in the car and it’s brilliant of alternate couples looking for a slow dance for their wedding day.
