Most brides stick with the traditional verse of ‘something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue’ when considering their big day. With the help of friends and family this is usually easily fulfilled.
At be-jewel I can help you along with the tradition. Recently I made some bespoke jewellery and hair accessories and I used the brides Nan’s jewellery that she wore on her own wedding day. With permission to take the items and use them to create something new I was able to take apart the old crystals and make them into a whole new set of accessories. The Nan’s jewellery was also used to make her Great Granddaughters jewellery and accessories for her role as bridesmaid. A lovely way to incorporate family pieces from ‘old’ to ‘new’ and keep the tradition.
When making headpieces I have also added in a small Swarovski crystal into the design in light sapphire, to add a little hint of ‘something blue’.
Tucked away into the design it is another little snippet of the tradition which a lot of brides like to use. The addition of the light sapphire is free of charge in any Be Jewel designs. Whether it be on a headpiece or in a bracelet…the choice is yours.
I have made a ‘Bridal charm’ which is a lovely way to keep the ‘something blue’ tradition also. The little pin could be attached to a garter, underside on the bridal gown or even the ribbon on the bouquet. The photo shows you the charm and comes boxed to be presented as a little gift.
